Laredo PONY Baseball and Softball will be hosting the PONY Fast Pitch World Series Showcase in Laredo Texas this summer. The Showcase will take Place July 19-21, 2018 and will run concurrently with the PONY Girls Fast Pitch World Series being held July 17 – 22, 2018. For the first time in Laredo, College scouts from various universities and colleges from throughout the country have committed to participate in the event.

The Fast Pitch World Series Showcase features select teams from Texas and other South Zone states participating in a College coach driven camp and coached tournament games. Every team is guaranteed 4 games and then the teams will compete in a single elimination “Stay and Play” tournament. The Showcase is for players 18 and under and 16 and under.

The colleges and universities that have signed commitments to attend and participate, as of this press release, are University of Incarnate Word, Lamar University, University of Massachusetts, St. Mary’s University, Howard Payne University, Schreiner University, University of Houston – Victoria, Jarvis Christian College, And Laredo Community College. Richard Rosas, Laredo PONY President, said “This event will help showcase very talented players from around the state and south zone. We are excited to have this level of commitment from universities and colleges. It is another first for Laredo.”

The tournament entry fee is $450 plus the age of $60.00 and a PAP of $40.00. There is a twenty (20) team maximum and each team is guaranteed 4 games. The date for camp is Thursday July 19, 2018. The cost for the camp is $85.00. This includes camp, college coached games, college coach Q&A sessions. This camp will be held at various Laredo fields. Camp times are 18 and under at 8:00AM to 12:00PM and 16 and under from 1:00PM to 5:00PM.
