Laredo PONY will hold a press conference Saturday May 26th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Uni-Trade Stadium to announce the attendance of PONY League teams from Mexico during the World Series Events for summer 2018. International Directors for PONY Mexico will be hosted by representatives of PONY Texas, Laredo PONY, and City of Laredo staff this weekend. The group arrives on Friday May 25th and will leave Sunday.
Their visit highlights their anticipated participation in this year’s Girls Fast Pitch and Palomino Boys 18 and under World Series Games. The teams from Mexico will join Girls Softball teams, ages 6 to 18, from across the state of Texas, Louisiana, and Florida as well as Laredo. The Boys team from Mexico will participate in a World Series that features teams from Chinese Taipei, Puerto Rico, the four PONY Palomino zones of the United States and Laredo.
The entourage includes four members of the Mexico PONY leadership, members of the PONY Texas board of directors, Laredo PONY directors and members of the City of Laredo. The purpose of the visit is to tour the city and its fields in advance of the World Series events this summer.
